Made by Shafford, this pot de creme has a white background with a sweet strawberry design.  There are two strawberries on one side and with a cluster of leaves and strawberries on the other side.  The lid, cup and handle are edged in gold.  The finial is another red strawberry with green trim.

Dimensions:  The cup holds about 4 1/2 ounces and is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4".

About Shafford:  Shafford is a Japanese company that produced many pot de creme sets in the 1970's.  You may find them simply decorated, white with gold trim and frequently with a matching rectangular tray.  They also produced them in florals as well as this fruit pattern.  Some sets were produced in bold solid colors.  A popular pattern was called Les Papillons Butterflies and came in sets of 4 with a matching square tray.  Some of the sets came with matching saucers rather than a tray.

Condition Notes:  It is not uncommon for Shafford pieces to have tiny manufacturing flaws like a little slip of the gold trim, or very tiny imperfections in the glaze.  Rarely are these noticeable unless really closely inspected.

Condition Vintage, very good
