Tropical Ponzu Sauce

This tropical sauce is made with a combination tamari, mirin, vinegar, apricot nectar and lime juice with fresh carambola fruit. of Use this sauce with fish or meats.

    • 1 1/2 cups mirin
    • 1 cup rice vinegar
    • 1/2 cup shoyu, tamari, or soy sauce
    • 1 cup bonito flakes
    • 3 serrano peppers – seeded/rough chop
    • 1/2 cup tropical apricot nectar
    • 1/4 cup bilimbi fruit or carambola
    • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice


1. Combine all ingredients (except lime Juice) in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat

2. Remove from heat, let cool, and strain through a china cap

3. Add lime juice to taste, cover and refrigerate
