Tomatillo Salsa

default recipe image

Our Tomatillo Salsa recipe includes  onions, garlic, lime juice, Mexican oregano, Serrano chilies, and cilantro. The tomato and the tomatillo are native to Mexico. It is thought that the early mention of tomatoes in historical records may really have been references to the tomatillo.  Learn more about  tomatillos.

This is a fresh, uncooked salsa so most of the prep time is preparing the tomatillos. Use tomatillo salsa with tortilla chips, top a taco, or even use over fresh enchiladas.
