Stovetop Smoked Trout


You can smoke trout at home using any small smoker.  This recipe smokes the trout using alder chips and fresh lemon.  You only smoke the meat for 15 minutes per pound.

    • 3 fresh trout
    • lemon wedges
    • salt and pepper
    • 2 tbsp alder chips


Rinse trout and pat dry. season to taste and smoke over medium heat for 15 minutes per pound. This is a delicious, healthy and easy recipe. serve with a lemon wedge and enjoy. remember to cook an extra one to make a great spread with mayo capers and lemons. serves 3-6.
