South Western Guacamole

While ingredients like cumin are not found in traditional guacamole its fun to try some variations. Serve with blue corn tortilla chips. Adapted from a recipe from  Visit the website for more avocado recipes.

    • 4 California avocados, seeded and peeled
    • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
    • 1 clove garlic, crushed
    • 1 tomato finely chopped
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 3 drops hot pepper sauce such as Tabasco
    • Blue Corn Tortilla chips
    • Cilantro for garnish


Using a fork, coarsely mash avocado with lemon juice and garlic. Stir in remaining ingredients to blend.
Serve in a Mexican molcajete and garnish with cilantro sprigs and serve with blue corn tortilla chips.
