Fresh Heart of Palm Poke

Michael Crowell of Wailea Agricultural Group, the largest supplier of Hawai'i-grown heart of palm, offers this simple recipe which uses heat or palm, fresh ahi, wasabi powder, ginger, sesame oil and shoyu.

    • 1 pound fresh ahi
    • 1/2 teaspoon fresh Hawaiian ginger
    • 2 teaspoon natural wasabi powder
    • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
    • 1/4 cup light shoyu
    • 1 6 inch piece fresh heart of palm stem portion


Cut ahi into bite-size pieces. Mix together ginger, wasabi and shoyu. Add to ahi and mix. Add sesame oil and mix.

Thinly slice fresh heart of palm. Toss with poke and chill.

Plate on fresh chopped greens.
