Here's a recipe that came from a friend of my mother's over 40 years ago. This tasty appetizer not only pleases the palate, but the eye as well.

(225 g) cream cheese at room temperature

Tbs
(15 ml) mayonnaise
1
Tbs
(15 ml) grated onion
1
tsp
(5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
1

garlic, pressed through a garlic press

can
(3.75 oz, 106 g) smoked oysters, drained
and chopped
3 - 4
Tbs
(45 - 60 ml) chopped fresh chives
Instructions
Mix together the cream cheese, mayonnaise, grated onion,
Worcestershire sauce, and the pressed garlic. Spread this onto a piece of aluminum foil forming a square of about 6 inches (15 cm) and 1/2 inch (1 cm) thick. Chill until firm, 2 to 3 hours. Spread the chopped oysters over the cheese and roll up jelly roll fashion. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight. Roll in chopped chives to coat the exterior prior to serving. Cut into slices and serve with crackers or toast points.
