The prickly pear is the fruit of the nopal cactus. The most common prickly pear variety in Mexico is bright magenta inside and makes colorful and delicately flavored margarita.
Add Prickly Pear Puree, ice and remaining ingredients into cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously. Pour into salted bucket/margarita glass. Garnish with a slice of fresh lime. Serve. *Frozen prickly pear puree is available online at Perfect Puree. Some stores like Whole foods may carry it as well. You can make your own puree by peeling and seeding fresh prickly pear. Cut the prickly pears into chucks and blend in the blender.
