August is National Peach Month. Celebrate with this recipe for a flaky-pastry peach dumpling served with sweet cream from Chef David Venable.
To prepare the filling, place the sugar, brown sugar, and chopped pecans into a medium-size bowl. Toss the ingredients to distribute evenly. Add in the vanilla and melted butter and mix until well-combined. Set aside.
To prepare the dumplings, preheat the oven to 400°F. Place a rack in the bottom of the oven. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and coat with cooking spray. Set aside.
