Broccolini is a natural hybrid cross of broccoli and gai lan (Chinese kale). Roasting is an excellent preparation method. Serve as a side dish with meats, fish or add to your favorite pasta.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Place broccolini on a baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper. Toss well and spread vegetable in an even layer on the pan. Turn the broccolini periodically as it roasts and cook until it starts to brown and becomes golden color around the edges. This should take 15 to 18 minutes.
Serve your roasted broccolini warm or allow to cool and serve at room temperature.
Recipe Variation:
Optionally you can toss the roasted broccolini with 1 - 2 tablespoons of freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.
