This recipe uses a highly-doctored up sauce mix. This is a shortcut to a more complex meat sauce. My husband loves this spaghetti!

Lawry's spaghetti sauce mix (dry)

ground been

yellow
onion, chopped
1
tablespoon
olive oil
1
clove
garlic, chopped
2
cups
red wine
1
can
tomato paste
8
oz
sliced button mushrooms
Instructions
Heat oil in a large saucepan.
Add the garlic and cook just until golden.
Add the onion and cook until it gets limp. Crumble in the ground beef and cook until no longer pink.
Add the dry mix and stir until combined. Add the tomato paste, stir to combine. Allow the mixture to cook for about two minutes.
Add the water and the wine and stir again.
Add the sliced mushrooms, stir in.
Bring mixture to a simmer, cover and continue to simmer for 30 minutes.
Serve over hot whole wheat spaghetti.
