Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the kale, stir and allow it to cook about 1 to 2 minutes then add the pasta. Cook the pasta per the package directions, typically about 8 -10 minutes. While the pasta is cooking, put the olive oil in a small heavy pan, add the chopped garlic and simmer over medium heat until the garlic starts to brown. We like it to be golden but cook it to your liking. Once the pasta is cooked, drain the pasta/kale mixture and pour it into a warmed serving bowl. Top the pasta with the garlic and olive oil mixture, toss well to coat. Now top it with the Parmesan cheese and toss again. Serve in wide pasta bowls. Pass around hot red pepper flakes so each person can add the amount they like.
