What is Tejpat?
Cinnamomum tamala, tejpat is a leaf of an evergreen tree closely related to cinnamon and is used in Indian cooking as a flavoring.
Substitute for Tejpat
If you don't have tejpat then there are some options:
Use freshly ground cinnamon bark (cassia bark)
OR - Use a couple of cloves
OR - While you could use Mediterranean bay leaves you may be better off just leaving the ingredient out
