What is Somen?
Used in Japanese cooking, somen are very fine wheat flour noodles. Somen only takes 1 minute of cooking time and can be served warm with a dipping sauce or chilled. Traditionally each person would mix chopped spring onion and fresh grated ginger in an individual bowl filled with a dipping sauce. Small portions of noodles are dipped in the sauce and eaten a few strands at a time. Sold dried in small bundles in Asian markets.
