What are Saltine crackers?
Saltine crackers
are thin, crisp crackers made with wheat flour, oil, yeast and various flavorings. The traditional version has tops which have been sprinkled with salt and thus the name, Saltines. The otherwise bland-flavored cracker can be eaten with soups, salads, cheeses. The crackers are sometimes crumbled and mixed with butter then used as a topping over baked casseroles or vegetables.
Substitute for Saltine crackers
Table water crackers, or, if serving with soup use oyster crackers or croutons
