What is Ramen?
Japanese noodles - the term means "stretched" The noodle actuallly orginated in China and is made from wheat flour, egg and alkali water (kansui). Once cooked the noodles can be served in soup or with other cooked foods. The noodle is so popular in Japan that every county has its own unique version and there is even Ramen museum in Yokohama, Japan.
Ramen noodles can be purchased dried, fresh or frozen at many well-stock grocery stores and of course at Asian markets.
