What is Prosciutto?
Prosciutto
is a seasoned cured ham most famous from Parma, Italy. Prosciutto de Parma is used as an appetizer, in sandwiches, salads, and as a flavoring in a variety of sauces. Typically Prosciutto should be sliced paper thin. A common appetizer in Italy is thin slices of Prosciutto served with cantaloupe. Both domestic and imported versions are available in delis throughout the U.S.
