What is Mung bean sprouts
The mung bean sprout is sprouted from the dried mung bean. This is the most common spout used in Chinese cooking. The sprouts are tender yet sturdy enough to hold up to a stir-fry. Purchase mung bean spouts in most well-stocked grocery stores. It is best to purchase from a store with a good turnover. Sprouts can carry salmonella so you should purchase fresh sprouts from a reputable source.
