Lemon verbena is one of our favorite garden plants. Our verbena does not die back unless we get several consecutive hard freezes. It other areas it may die back in the winter. It is easy to grow, has aromatic lemon-flavored leaves.
We add the leaves to ice tea or steep them to make hot tea. We've chopped up the leaves and used it to substitute for lemon grass. You can also add the leaves to a marinade for fish or poultry.
Typically this is a garden plant you grow at home or you may find it in your local farmer's market.
