Prepared horseradish is made from freshly grated horseradish with vinegar and salt added. The mixture is sold in small jars and the condiment is used in sauces, salad dressings, or served with sandwiches and cold and hot meats.
Prepared horseradish has a slight yet pronounced vinegar flavor. If you are making a sauce and you want to reduce the amount of vinegar flavor you can drain the horseradish with a fine sieve.
