Chocolate chips are small drops of chocolate used for baking made popular by Nestles. The Nestles chips were semisweet but today can be found in milk or darker chocolate versions. The chips are used in the famous Toll House Cookies recipe but can be used to make fudge, pots de creme, ice cream or frozen yogurt topping as well as numerous other desserts.
The little chocolate morsels can be found in several brands including Guittard and Nestles but can also be purchased in bulk from Whole Foods.
