What is Chipotle Tabasco sauce?
Tabasco sauce has been made in Louisianna by McIlhenny Company since 1868.
Chipotle Tabasco
was first produced around 2005 and has become a very popular sauce. Here is a description from the Tabasco folks: "Chipotle Pepper Sauce is made from select smoked red jalapeño peppers and has a smooth, rich smoky flavor. And it's our first pepper sauce that you can sprinkle on like a condiment, or really pour on like a steak sauce or marinade! Use a generous amount to marinate and grill chicken, flank steak, fajitas, hamburgers, vegetables, pork loin and more - because it's not just about adding heat, it's about adding great smoky flavor."
Substitute for Chipotle Tabasco sauce
If you don't have Chipotle Tabasco sauce you can substitute:
1 tablespoon regular Tabasco sauce + 1 teaspoon sauce from chiptotle in adobo
OR - Use equal amounts of Tabasco sauce plus a dash of
liquid smoke
