What is Annatto oil?
A dark red-orange color oil made by infusing an oil with annatto (achiote) seeds. This colored oil is used in South American cooking.
Simple Recipe
1 cup olive oil
1/2 cup annatto seeds
Combine the oil and seeds in a small saucepan. Gently cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool and refrigerate.
