This Chantilly pot de creme set was produced in France and decorated in the Kakiemon style. The design depicts beautiful birds in shades of deep rust, blues and greens. The owner of this set dated it back to about 1740 but this has not been confirmed. In fact these designs were copied, mark and all, by companies such as the Samson factory. The quality of the porcelain and painting looks more like a copy to me, rather than an original. Nevertheless, it's a beautiful set but perhaps not at the price for which the owner is offering.
The set includes 6 cups with lids as well as a matching rectangular tray which is 9 3/4" long by 6 1/2" wide.
The cups and tray are marked with a red French horn. See the additional images.
