Ardalt Lenwile Pots de Creme set consists of of 6 pot de creme cups and lids with a matching tray. The design is a gold and black hand painted Eagle and Rose on an all white porcelain background.
The mark on this set is a silver paper label with red print which reads "Hand Painted, Lenwile China, Ardalt Japan with the AA mark". We are unable to find out very much about the company other than the fact Ardalt, Inc. was an importer of a lot of giftware, statues, plates, general tabletop items. The company was in business from about 1944 and disappeared about 1971. The firm imported products from all over the world.
This pot de creme set was produced in Japan. The tray and cups look identical to sets made in Japan and sold by Andrea Sadek. I suspect the Japanese company produced these sets under different brands. Given the paper label on the set it would be newer, probably 1960's to 1970.
These pot de creme cups held about 3 ounces and measured 3 3/4" wide including the handle and 3 3/4" high to the top of the finial on the cup lid. The tray is 9" in diameter.
