The Pastaria and Market is a tiny little fresh-pastaria right across from the old Ferrari dealership* on Main street. They opened in about 2001 and it immediately became truly a local favorite. The pastas and everything else is house made and amazingly they are able to keep their prices very reasonable.
In addition to their regular menu they typically have a special or two. One of my favorites (besides pasta) is their Chicken Parmigiana which is pretty huge so I always have leftovers to take home. Their baked pastas are marvelous as well and the lasagna never disappoints.
I love their tiramisu and they have other desserts as well.
This is a little restaurant with only a few tables. They do have two small tables outside as well. It's best to come early or make sure to have a reservation.
Street parking is limited so if there is nothing out front then there is more parking right up the street of the park (in front of the Library and city offices).
*The Ferrari dealership is now gone and in 2019 will be converted to a gym.
Purple Onion - is on the opposite side of the street, on the corner, great coffee drinks, pastries, salads and sandwiches.
Billy's Boston Chowder House - is on the same side of the street just a half a block up, famous for their lobster rolls.
Namaste - Indian cuisine is not quite open yet (as of August 7, 2019) but they will be right up the block as well.
Many years ago, in the 1960's this location was Shamrock Liquors, after that it was a little Mexican place called And Chiles.
We did a drive-by of ASA Los Gatos this morning, September 30, 2019. We see progress! There is no sign on the building yet, but there is a sign posted next to the Best Western sign along Alberto Way.
There were chefs in the kitchen working away and a delivery truck in the drive dropping off boxes, all of which indicating progress is being made. Check out more details here.
