Manresa originally opened in 2002 and since that time is rated 38 of the world's top 50 best restaurants! Zagat Survey 2006 earned Manresa a 28-point rating. Michael Bauer, San Francisco Chronicle rates it 4 stars. The Michelin guide awarded Manresa with their coveted 2 star rating back in 2007, then it was upgraded to 3 stars in 2016 and those stars remain today.
The chef/owner David Kinch did a beautiful remodel of the old Ming Quong building located on Village Lane (behind Pedros). Pre Fix menu, creative wine list. Seating outdoors too in good weather. The menu features dishes based on locally sourced, fresh seasonal ingredients.
There is very limited on street parking on Village Lane. There is a parking lot behind the restaurant (behind Village Lane).
In 2016 Chef Kinch opened a small, more casual, Louisiana-style restaurant called the The Bywater Restaurant on N Santa Cruz avenue. His pastry chef, Avery Ruzicka opened the fabulous Manresa Bread bakery located across the parking lot from the Manresa Restaurant.
The Ming Quong (Radiant Light) women's rescue organization operated a restaurant here called The Village House. The workers in the restaurant were volunteers. The restaurant used to sell recipes for the dishes they prepared.
In 1965 - This space housed the Los Gatos Moose Lodge.
