Enoteca La Storia opened in 2010 and is located in the newly-style Los Gatos Shopping center (small, not a huge place) next to Bianco. The Enoteca La Storia offers a nice setting for wine tastings, classic Italian appetizers and a wine club too. You can sit at the long bar or there are a few stand up tables as well. There is extra space for special events.
The interior is friendly and inviting and the wine and appetizer selection impressively extensive. The wines regions represented are about 1/3 Italian, 1/3 Other European and 1/3 Local Santa Cruz wineries. This is a very nice place to meet with friends, taste some new wines and you won't go hungry.
In addition to appetizers Enoteca now serves some pasta dishes as well as tasty desserts go you can try a nice dessert wine too!
You can rent a room for a special occasion too (great for adult birthday parties).
They have a nice outdoor seating area as well as seating indoors at the bar and at tables.
There is a parking lot right out front so you shouldn't have too much difficulty finding a spot. There is additional parking in a lot behind the wine bar as well.
Starbucks is at the end of the same shopping center.
Aldo's Cafe is right next to Starbucks if you're look for a more substantial meal (and good wine too.
PintxoPote, a tapas restaurant is just a few doors down from Enoteca (towards Starbucks).
As we walked downtown this weekend we see that the Pastaria staff is making progress on their new location. Tables are in and it appears wine (and perhaps food) is being tested out. Please note the current location on Main Street is still open for now.
I have a feeling it will be a packed-house once they open. The new restaurant will be located at 27 N Santa Cruz Ave (previously OPA).
