Asa of Los Gatos opened on October 6th 2019 in the former location of one of our favorites; Grill 57 located at 57 Los Gatos Saratoga Road. The restaurant is owned and operated by Andrew Welch, former co-owner of The Basin in Saratoga as well as the popular Asa Los Altos.
The cuisine is New American (to use Yelp terminology) with a slightly Spanish flare (Iberico Ham, Paella) some pasta dishes, a special "steak" and special "fish" for the night. The menu is seasonal and well-focused. You can view the full menu here.
Welch optimistically reported he may open by late August, but the date slipped which is most often the case.
Appetizers / first-course items range from $9.00 for Truffle Fries to $26.00 for Iberico Ham and Parmesan cheese.
Salads vary from a simple Romaine salad for $10.00 to an Organic Beet Salad for $13.00.
Main dishes start at $19.00 for an Arribiata Pasta, Scallops at $39.00 and the fish and steak specials are set to be "As Quoted".
Cocktail and Beer selections have yet to be announced.
They will also be serving breakfast for hotel guests as well as the public. Again, check out the menu link for those details.
