Andale Mexican Restaurant offers very good fresh Mexican food. This location opened in 1987 and is right between the Apple store and Great Bear Coffee. Andale and serves burritos, mesquite roasted chicken, tacos, tortas, salads and various specialties, all fresh. You can also purchase beer or classic house-prepared margaritas. Seating is crowded, take out is available as well. There is an outdoor seating area located on the back patio which is very popular in the summer. Andale serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday only. The patio does offer umbrellas in the summer and heaters in the winter. There is an Andale annex across the street with just a few seats, mostly takeout, same food.
They have great salsas at the self-serve condiment bar. Our favorite is salsa de cacahuate which is a salsa made with peanuts and de arbol chiles. It is excellent! It even makes a great dip for chips.
Although parking is busy on North Santa Cruz you can park behind the building and Andale has an entrance from the parking lot as well. There is another parking lot on the other side of North Santa Cruz as well.
