I just came off of 325+ days on Nutrisystem where I lost 25-30 lbs (depending on what day I weigh). I plan to use the Slimming World Food Optimizing plan for continued weight loss. I'll be sharing with you my impressions, successes (and maybe failures) so you can decide if this plan is right for you.

Sheesh! After a less than 1000 calorie day my weight went up. Maybe too much sodium? Too much fat? Maybe just "because". Oh well, what can you do. I had a couple of cups of coffee then made some breakfast. Sadly I didn't have that many ingredients for my project but I went for it with what I had. I made little egg muffins which is a variation on a scrambled egg baked in the oven. After baking they come out portable so you can pack then in your lunch/breakfast container for munching on the go.
I had one of these babies although I could have had 2 and probably should have because I got a little hungry earlier than I wanted. My Bacon Jalapeno and Scallion Egg Muffins included some green scallions and a little Catamount Hills cheese top. To keep this a "free food" exchange the bacon for some lean ham and skip the cheese or use reduced fat cheese.
I headed out for a walk to the farmer's market after breakfast and a few chores. I picked up some salad field greens, my usual mixture, and some little patty pan squash. I came back and dove right back into chores thereby inadvertently skipping snack time.
Given I had leftover BBQ chicken from yesterday and fresh salad greens the obvious lunch choice a BBQ chicken salad. I tossed the greens with my old favorite, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and a little kosher salt and pepper. I topped the salad with about 1/8 oz shredded cheese. To keep this Slimming World "free" skip the cheese, substitute a non-fat dressing of choice. Italian style would work well.
It's been 24 hours so I allowed myself one ounce (weighed out) of cashew nuts (and not a nut more!).
For whatever reason I was not in the mood for much meal prep this evening. I had 2 BBQ leftover chicken thighs, some tomatoes, one cucumber and some cheese. I made up the platter below which served 2 of us. I laid low on the cheese and only ate less than 1 chicken thigh. I had cucumbers and tomatoes. Skip the cheese and it's a Slimming World Free meal. IF I skipped the cheese I'd add another vegetable.
After dinner I took a walk to finish off my 10k steps for the day.
I didn't have anything dessert-wise but later in the evening I got a little hungry. I didn't want to eat more nuts but I did have about 1 ounce of Toscano salami.
I'm hoping my weight will trend down again tomorrow. I'm happy with my meal choices. This next week should be a little cooler which is fine by me. Hope you all had a great weekend. See you Monday!
