I just came off of 325+ days on Nutrisystem where I lost 25-30 lbs (depending on what day I weigh). I plan to use the Slimming World Food Optimizing plan for continued weight loss. I'll be sharing with you my impressions, successes (and maybe failures) so you can decide if this plan is right for you.

**Note: this was not a Slimming World style day. I'm making modification due to some current diet restrictions. Dinner was a very good Slimming World meal.
Oh well, I couldn't hope all those cashew nuts would not add up to a weight gain. To add insult to injury I didn't sleep as well as I'd hoped either. I paddled downstairs and had a couple of cups of coffee. Eventually I made breakfast which consisted of 1 egg, scrambled and 2 slices of bacon (1/2 ounce total) extra-crispy, well, almost petrified, but I like it that way. I'm not going to even track syns today, it's Saturday. That said I did input all foods that touched these lips in my Fitbit app so I did track total calories.
By the way, one of the first things I did this morning was I moved the cashew nuts from the counter by the back door to the pantry.
Around 10:00 I took a walk into town. There was a little art festival downtown today. I integrated this into my normal walk. I didn't have a snack but I did stop for lunch at some point.
My husband and I shared a taco salad. This was not a traditional taco salad but it was fresh and very good. It was made with cabbage, baby arugula, chicken breast pieces, fresh corn, black beans, tomatoes and a little shredded carrot. The dressing was mayonnaise based with some cilantro. There was a grating of cheese on top but not an overwhelming amount. There were some nice, fresh house-made tortilla strips served on top with some little toasted pepitas.
I got almost all of my steps in for the day with this walk. By the time I got home I was a little hungry so I had 1/2 ounce of Toscano salami.
I purchased some chicken thighs yesterday and some broccolini so I had to make sure everything got cooked. I removed the skin from the chicken thighs and I coated them in a mixture of kosher salt, ground garlic, pepper and ancho chile powder. This makes an awesome delicious coating for the chicken. I put them on the grill and cooked them at about 400 for about 20 minutes. They tasted great BUT, too much salt. I used a salt rub I made a while back for a prime rib I was making. I like that rub to be salty for the prime rib but it was just too much for the chicken. Aside from that the combination made a really good rub for the chicken.
I had my grill too high so the chicken is more charred than I care for. That said, my husband loves it that way.
I also served broccolini and I had about less than one tablespoon of mayonnaise on the side.
Before dinner I had 2 pieces of celery with a little pate. As a side note, I would not typically serve pate on celery but given I'm not eating breads or crackers it seemed like a reasonable stand-in.
I didn't have anything right after dinner but later, I had one square (about .375 oz) of dark 72% chocolate by Ghiardelli (67 calories). That and a glass of sparkling Pellegrino water and it hit the spot.
I am so proud to say I didn't eat a single cashew nut today. There is something to be said for "out of sight, out of mind". I got all my steps in for the day and a little extra. Healthful eating wise my sodium was too high and so were fats. Also my fiber for the day was way too low. I'll have to do some adjusting tomorrow. Hope you all are having a restful weekend. See you tomorrow!
