I just came off of 325+ days on Nutrisystem where I lost 25-30 lbs (depending on what day I weigh). I plan to use the Slimming World Food Optimizing plan for continued weight loss. I'll be sharing with you my impressions, successes (and maybe failures) so you can decide if this plan is right for you.
Saturday August 5, 2017 Total Steps 14,211 ( walk) Total Calories: Didn't Track Water Intake: Didn't track Weight Loss: Cumulative -26.9 lbs.
So my rather unorthodox diet (temporary) is continuing today. The gist of it is, high protein, fat, no sugar, no fruit, no carbs except non-starchy ones, no rice no other grains and cereals. I can have hard cheese like cheddar, Gruyere, Parmesan but no soft cheese, yogurt or that sort of thing. I can have butter and olive oil. It's quite similar to Atkins.
So to begin the day I made 2 strips of bacon with 1 1/2 scrambled eggs with a couple teaspoons of butter. I also had a couple of slices of fresh tomatoes with a little salt and pepper. The eggs and tomatoes were quite Slimming World friendly but the bacon is a syn, about 18.5 syns for 4 ounces of bacon, this was about 2 ounces.
I took off for a good walk and got almost all my steps in for the day. When I got back I had a couple slices of Toscano salami and a couple slices of cheese.
I sliced more cheese and fresh tomatoes. I topped the tomatoes with some salt and freshly ground pepper.
I took another walk, off to the grocery store for some broccoli to add to the dinner menu. When I got back I had some beef jerky and water.
I got some nice center cut pork chops which I pan fried in a little olive oil. I steamed the broccoli and I sliced another fresh tomato. I had a dollop (less that a tablespoon) of mayonnaise on my broccoli. I had a cup of iced coffee after dinner.
For Slimming World participants, you need to broil or BBQ your pork chops with no fat and skip the mayonnaise or count your syns.
Fruits and sweets of any sort are not allowed and I've met my cheese tolerance for the day so I just had some iced water.
I slept like a baby last night I was so exhausted. I got lots of exercise today and the protein-centric diet provided plenty of energy. My head aches a bit but aside from that I feel pretty good. I can do this for a few days but I would not want to live like this all the time. Hope you've all had a great Saturday. See you Sunday!
