I just came off of 325+ days on Nutrisystem where I lost 25-30 lbs (depending on what day I weigh). I plan to use the Slimming World Food Optimizing plan for continued weight loss. I'll be sharing with you my impressions, successes (and maybe failures) so you can decide if this plan is right for you.

I missed my gym time because I had to go in for some dentistry torture (haha). I did walk to and from the dentist so I got a good start on my steps for the day. The weather is in the mid 80's and probably the coolest day of the week. I made my usual breakfast, no fat Fage Greek yogurt, blueberries and 1/3 cup of granola. The granola was about 7 syns. The rest are considered free foods.
I was pretty hungry by the time I got out of the dentist chair and walked back home. I had to take some time and water the garden and do a little shopping so I skipped a snack and proceeded directly to lunch.
I had some pasta leftover from dinner last night. I like tri-color fusilli. I sauteed some red bell pepper and green scallions with a little garlic in a small amount of syn-ridden olive oil. I poured the mixture over my warmed pasta and added about 1/4 ounce of Prosciutto di Parma and a few crumbles of goat cheese. I finished it off with a grinding of fresh pepper. I didn't even count the syns. If you wanted a free version and you can stomach fat-free Italian dressing you could use that. Then saute the vegetables in a non-stick pan with about 5 sprays of "fat-free" oil. You could pass on the prosciutto but I'd just track it as a syn. The cheese can be from your daily allotment.
I did get a little hungry later in the day so I had a stick of light string cheese. I ate this on the way to hardware store to fetch some supplies I needed for the garden. FYI I was NOT driving lest you think I'm one of those dangerous distracted drivers.
Whilst at the grocery store I procured some small pork chops. I had a zucchini from the garden that needed to be eaten. I sauteed the zucchini in a pan with a few sprays of oil. I did add 1 teaspoon of butter before serving. I lightly fried the pork chop the same way (not butter added after). I had some tomatoes and a little bit of fresh mozzarella cheese. I topped the tomatoes with the cheese, a little salt and pepper, some thinly sliced basil. I did a faint drizzle of olive oil on the tomatoes. Syn, syn, syn. Alternately I could have use the cheese as part of my healthy dairy options, and some would go towards sys then skip the olive oil and just use some balsamic vinegar.
It was very hot but I had to drag myself out of the house after dinner to get some additional yard work tended to. While I deserved something I resisted and just had some ice water instead.
It's easier to eat light when it's so darn hot out. I was determined to get my 10k steps in and the extra gardening insured that. I have some appointments tomorrow AND it's supposed to get closed to 100 so I may not make my steps. I'm just getting them in when I can, which is everyday for the last 2 weeks.
