I just came off of 325+ days on Nutrisystem where I lost 25-30 lbs (depending on what day I weigh). I plan to use the Slimming World Food Optimizing plan for continued weight loss. I'll be sharing with you my impressions, successes (and maybe failures) so you can decide if this plan is right for you.

I head out for gym about 6:55am so breakfasts have to be quick, easy and painless to prepare. I'm still in my yogurt, fruit, cereal rut but it works. So, Slimming World wise my yogurt should be fat free instead of 2%, my fruit, fresh peaches was OK but my granola (1/4 cup) would be on the syn list.
I got in a short walk after gym. I came home to my usual Nutrisystem Chocolate Turbo protein shake. More syns. Later, before my next walk I had a few slices of salt free turkey breast.
I walked right before lunch and returned hungry. I made my half sandwich with Dave's Killer skinny bread, more turkey breast, 1 teaspoon mayonnaise and lettuce. I peeled another cucumber. This one was not as good as the ones I purchased at the farmer's market. The bread, lettuce and turkey are "free foods" the bread is actually a healthy extra, the mayo is a syn (or 2).
I got a little hungry around 3:00. I had about 1/2 ounce of Toscano Salami, more syns. At 3:30 a load of gravel showed up I ordered on Monday. This is 3 yards of pea gravel (heavy stuff). Two of us had to spread the gravel over an area of about 60' x 8' x 3" deep. We scooped it off the street and spread what we could but it was over 85F out and that's hot heavy work. Once the street was clear we stopped and decided the smoothing out could wait until the cool of Thursday morning.
For some reason I have a hodgepodge of groceries. I bought this, that and the other but a few ingredients I could not get so I have incomplete recipe makings. I was going to make a pasta with shrimp but I didn't like the looks or the origin of the shrimp. I decided to use some of my homemade tomato sauce, add some 95% lean ground beef, onion, garlic, fresh parsley. That would be a "syn free" all you can eat meal. I have to say it came out very well. I could have added some mushrooms I purchased but didn't think of it. I was ravenous after all my gravel shoveling so I ate one nice good size bowl. I added a small amount of freshly grated Parmesan cheese and some fresh Italian parsley.
Dinner was good but I got "snacky" in about 3 hours. My husband made some popcorn so I ate about 4 cups with a little added butter (not a lot). This was total syns food.
Between gym, extra walks and gravel shoveling I racked up over 14k steps for the day. This was a good one! I'm not tallying syns yet but I will start eventually. I really enjoyed pasta because I really don't eat much of it.
