I just came off of 325+ days on Nutrisystem where I lost 25-30 lbs (depending on what day I weigh). I plan to use the Slimming World Food Optimizing plan for continued weight loss. I'll be sharing with you my impressions, successes (and maybe failures) so you can decide if this plan is right for you.

I have to say the transition from Nutrisystem to Slimming World USA has been rocky at best mostly because I'm lazy and Slimming World is a lot of work. Honestly if you just want a pretty easy way to knock off 20-30 or more pounds Nutrisystem has it down if you don't mind the prepared foods. Even though many of the foods I didn't care for the fact it was practically mindless made it so easy.
Slimming World requires massive amounts of meal planning, organizing and shopping, all of which I loathe doing. Nutrisystem on the other hand takes no more effort than walking to the freezer or pantry, grabbing some food, heat and eat. That all said, here is how I did on day 2. Again let me stress I'm not fully transitioned to the plan but I'm getting there.
This is close to what a slimming world breakfast would, should be. They would be pleased with my Canadian bacon and my egg cooked without fat. They would even like my English muffin except for the butter. That teaspoon and half of butter would be half of my "syn" allowance for the day.
I headed out for a walk and when I returned I had my Nutrisystem Chocolate Turboshake sans banana 1/2. Again, numerous syns.
I made my usual 1/2 sandwich with Dave's Killer skinny bread (SW healthy choice A) Roasted turkey breast, salt free, lettuce and a teaspoon of Mayonnaise, syns. I also had a piece of potato and a slice of pork left over from dinner last night. Additionally I peeled and sliced a nice cool cucumber.
I went out for one more walk before it gets so hot you could get melted to the sidewalk. When I returned I had an iced coffee and 1/2 bag of Nutrisystem Vanilla Shortbread cookies. Syn, syn, syn.
OK so I should get brownie points for dinner at least. Slimming World had a recipe for stuffed squash. I used the recipe as a guide and came up with a downright tasty stuffing for zucchini. I could have, should have served a side salad but by the time the squash was finally baked the house was getting hot and I didn't feel like more work. I need to get back to my salad green mix from the farmer's market next week.
The meat mixture was 95% lean ground beef, onion, 4 cloves of garlic, Italian seasoning and tomato paste and some salt and pepper. I placed the filling in the hollowed out zucchinis and topped them with a few shreds of fresh Parmesan which was my healthy choice B option for the day. Right before I served them I added a couple of teaspoons of crumbled feta for some extra flavor. This meal actually tasted good.
Although I didn't eat any chocolate I did have a bowl of popcorn later in the evening with some synful butter.
I'm inching closer to the program. I'm just not sure I can get my head wrapped around all the different food groups and how to track "syns". I was supposed to attend a online meeting but I didn't. This part of their program is very "weight watcher like". You're suppose to meet and receive and provide support to others. I'm just a little too antisocial for that. I'll see how I do tomorrow.
