Nothing sounded really great for breakfast today and I'm pretty low on Nutrisystem options. I decided on another bag of the Nutrisystem Granola Cereal with 1/2 cup 2% milk. This always leaves me hungry in about an hour.
And as I suspected I was in fact hungry again so I toasted a 1/2 slice Dave's Killer skinny bread and 1 slathered it with a tablespoon of peanut butter. I also prepped a fresh cup of coffee with 2 teaspoons of cream. I just did a quick calculation. By having roughly 1 tablespoon of cream a day for a year I'd gain 4.86lbs. Hummm.. maybe need to rethink the daily cream.
OK so today I had something new, Nutrisystem wise. I tried the Nutrisystem BBQ Seasoned Chicken Melt. I've had the BBQ Seasoned Chicken MRE several times so I envisioned it would be a similar filling wrapped in the "bread" type wrap used in most all the wraps. Although the flavor of the sauce was similar the chicken was larger chunks of white chicken meat rather than the shredded version. The sauce was just a little too sweet for me but the flavor was pleasant. That all said I probably wouldn't buy it again other than once in a while for variety.
I decided to bake some chicken for dinner and roast a couple of small red potatoes so dinner ended up being later than I planned. I did get a little "too hungry" so I decided to have 1 ounce of raw cashew nuts and some water.
So in my fit of ambitious dinner making I put chicken thighs in the over topped with salt, pepper, garlic salt, ancho powder and raw sesame seeds. This is my standard chicken thigh prep. I was going to put red potatoes (cut into 6ths) on the same baking sheet but it looked like it would be too crowded which would make the chicken steam rather than get crispy (ICK) so I roasted them instead in my little mini convection. I really need to write a review about that little oven -- I use it every day! Right before the chicken and potatoes were done I sauteed some baby spinach leaves in a little olive oil and chopped garlic.
Dinner was pretty filling so I wasn't hungry for an evening snack.
I did get one walk in, early in the day then a few little short walks. I got to about 3/4 of my daily goal. My one new Nutrisystem food for the day was interesting but not a big winner. The rest of my meals were pretty civilized. Hope you all have a fun and or peaceful Sunday planned. See you then!
