Breakfast didn't sound very good today so I just ate whatever sounded good. NO, this is not proper Nutrisystem but this is what you do when you're not feeling particularly well. I still tried to keep it somewhat healthy. I had one slice of toasted Dave's Killer Skinny bread with a little butter and chunky peanut butter. It tasted good so better to eat something than nothing.
I was a little hungry at snack time so I had 2 Lavash Organic Multi-grain Thin crackers (I love these) with about 1 ounce of Irish White Cheddar Cheese.
I was surprised anything sounded good for lunch but the Nutrisystem Steak and Cheese Melt hit the spot. I was a little overzealous with toasting of the wrap but still quite good.
I headed out to do some grocery shopping. I really wanted roasted chicken for dinner. The good news is you get a fair amount of "steps" in at the store. When I got back I had about 1 ounce of nicely thin-sliced Toscano Salami.
This chicken recipe, Slow Roasted Chicken takes about 30 minutes prep and 3 hours to roast. Other than the fact it sounded good I was so tired by the time dinner rolled around I appreciated it a little less. This time I added a few pieces of carrot 3/4 of the way through the roasting time.
This is a picture of the pan with the potatoes, the chicken once stuffed with lemons and garlic and covered in a spicy rub gets placed on the herbs for roasting.
The chicken was perfectly roasted, as usual. Nutrisystem, and most nutritionists would say to skip eating any of the skin but but...
I was tired and full from dinner so dessert wasn't at all appealing. I went out for a couple of block walk in the cool air. It felt good.
You probably noticed my meals were devoid of fresh vegetables other than 1/2 of a roasted potato for dinner. Strong tasting foods did not taste good today. I hope my taste buds will get back on track soon. My activity level was pretty low but not terrible.
