A waffle sounded good so heated it up, whipped up a scrambled egg and poured a glass of V8 juice to serve along side. I topped my waffle with about 1 teaspoon butter and a tablespoon of Vermont sugar free syrup. Of course I had my morning cup of coffee or two. After breakfast I started a few weekend chores like tidying up the house a little and starting laundry. I'm not up for any exercise yet today but I'll get to that eventually I'm sure.
Around 9:15ish I had what has become my regular cup of coffee with 2 teaspoons of heavy cream. Nutrisystem would frown upon anything full-fat but I tend to disagree (for me). Keeping saturated fats down is a good thing but I believe in enjoying the flavor of "natural" foods. If I spend a year less at the end of my life in the nursing home in diapers, so be it; at least I enjoyed life and good food in the meanwhile.
Afterward I attempted a short walk but I didn't get far. I turned around and came back after a couple of blocks. When I got back I had 2 little Wedges of Laughing Cow Light Swiss Cheese for a snack.
I got hungry slightly after lunch time and heated up the Nutrisystem Red Beas and Rice. As shelf-stable MRE meals, this one is pretty decent. I like food with a little spice. Sometimes I add a splash of Tabasco sauce but I didn't today. Later I had an iced coffee.
I had a little more ice coffee but no snack. I made another attempt at taking a walk. I did about 3-4 blocks. Better than nothing, eh?
I'm at that "I'm hungry but nothing sounds good" stage. I decided to try something new. I heated the Nutrisystem Cheesesteak Pizza. This is a new entree for Nutrisystem. The pizza has steak bits, green and red bell pepper, onion, mozzarella cheese and a "cheese sauce". I would put this on my "it was OK list". Given I think their best tasting pizza is the Italian Sausage and Turkey Pepperoni so this one in my view is not even as good. I'm a bit of a purist too; I don't like things like steak or ground beef on my pizza. Again, personal preference so if you're on the Nutrisystem Program I recommend trying everything yourself once and don't rely on the customer reviews. Things I would have never thought I'd like I end up reordering. I topped my pizza with some hot red pepper flakes.
I didn't make it out for another walk. Nevertheless I did enjoy another Nutrisystem Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich.
Lack of exercise notwithstanding it was a pretty good day, all in all. I didn't have any flex meals today so mostly all Nutrisystem foods. I hit 50% of my step goal so I guess that could have been worse. I did track my water intake a little better which is a good thing. Hopefully I can get back on track with exercise tomorrow.
