I don't know why I bother weighing after a "special meal". I really didn't overeat so maybe the salt in the (delicious) ham?
I've started this cycle of being short on Nutrisystem meals because I almost "ignored" flex meals for the three weeks after "boot camp" week. I didn't "read the book" to see that they've changed to 2 flex breakfasts, lunches, dinners and evening snacks, from one of each. So that was close to two weeks I was off. Duh!! I don't want to double up on flex meals at this point but I might, here and there so I don't run short even more. In the spirit of that; I made myself a flex breakfast. I scrambled an egg with browned scallions and made a piece of Dave's Killer skinny bread toast with 1 teaspoon of butter. I should have had another protein but I didn't have anything that sounded interesting.
I headed back out into the garden for more hard labor. Spring garden clean-up is a _itch!
Around 9am I made fresh coffee but I wanted some cream and I was out. I walked to the grocery store and re-stocked cream and few other necessities as well. I came back and enjoyed my coffee and headed back out to the garden.
Around 11am I came in and made my Nutrisystem Chocolate Turbo Shake. That refueled me for awhile. I'm at the stage in the garden now where I can see some progress but there seems like there is a mountain left to climb. I'll just keep hacking away at it. I have one raised bed ready for the tomato plants I bought THREE weeks ago.. UGH. I've watched them carefully and kept them watered so they still look happy.
I couldn't believe it was after 1:00 already! I took a break and tried a new Nutrisystem lunch melt. Today I tested out the Nutrisystem Beef Stir Fry Melt. To be honest it didn't seem like something I'd like. I was trying to picture stir fry wrapped in bread. That said I was very pleasantly surprised. I really liked the flavor. I didn't love love the "wrap" but overall I'd definitely order it again. The white color of the wrap is a little off-putting.
After lunch I headed back out to the yard, again. This time I worked on the side of the house where there is some shade. It's beastly to be out in the vegetable garden area this time of day. I took a 2:30 break and had some iced coffee (black).
For whatever reason I decided I needed a walk. I walked about 3/4 of the way to the post office and back do I hit over 10k snacks.
I was pretty hungry so I prepared a snack. I've been dying for a slice of last nights ham. I measured off 2 ounces and served it with 3/4 ounce slice of pineapple. Wow, that was a great snack! I ate it so fast I forgot to take a pic first, oops!
I planned to eat my last Nutrisystem dinner but I changed my mind. I decided that the Nutrisystem Chicken Pasta Parmesan dinner sounded pretty good. I also had some raw cauliflower that I needed to use up so I munched on that too.
After a quick TV break I headed outside for one last time tonight. I planted my 3 tomato plants and got some watering done.
I poured myself a big 11 oz cup of water and sat out a Nutrisystem Chocolate Cupcake to thaw for dessert. It was a little later than I normally eat chocolate so I'm hoping it won't disrupt my sleep.
I finally figured out why I'm so short of meals. This is very interesting. Every time I've gone on Nutrisystem before you had 1 flex lunch and 1 flex dinner per week, so that's 2 meals you prep yourself. NOW, you have 2 flex breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks per week, 8 meals you prep per week, double. On the most part this is good because you integrate eating on your own more frequently. On the down side you're paying a lot more for the foods you receive on the program. So at least I understand that now and I'll plan and buy accordingly.
Tomorrow I have a morning appointment so other than a little watering I don't think I'll get a lot of gardening in. It's going to be even warmer than today and most of the yard gets crazy hot. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow. See you then!
