What goes down, sometimes goes up. I went up .5lb. I'm still 5lb down.
Today I'm doing a "flex breakfast". I had one slice extra crisp bacon, 1 slice Dave's Killer Skinny bread (toasted with less than a teaspoon of butter) and one egg, scrambled with scallions. Pretty filling!
A flex breakfast by the way is: 2 power fuels (proteins) and one smart carb.
I measured out 1 once of my favorite cashew nuts. I washed them down with water and headed out for a walk. I wasn't sure how far I felt like going so I just played it by ear. I wound up going slightly over 2 miles. Not bad!
I had some lunch when I got back. This is a newer lunch entrée, the Nutrisystem Spinach and Cheese Pretzel Melt. I don't think the thick crust tastes like pretzels which is fine by me but more of a dark whole wheat. The filling is nice and flavorful although as usual not real "cheesy" flavored. I like the spinach.
Not surprisingly my 2 mile walk left me pretty tired. I laid down for a short nap. I hate feeling groggy so I made myself a fresh cup of coffee and added 2 teaspoons of cream. It was very good! This is not exactly a Nutrisystem sanctioned snack but, oh well.
I had something new today, the Nutrisystem Chicken Marsala. I think this is dish they used to offer a long time ago that was brought back. It's served with fettuccine and a decent flavored sauce. The chicken tastes a little rubbery, almost like one of those "formed and pressed" meats but not awful. I'm not sure how much the sauce tasted like Marsala but it had that slight "nuttiness" flavor typical to Marsala. I only saw a couple tiny pieces of mushrooms. The pasta stayed nicely firm, not mushy. I served this in a bowl because the sauce is light and I didn't want it flowing all over my plate. I served it with some green beans.
I took a short walk after dinner. I wasn't up to anything too strenuous but I wanted an evening stroll at least. I just went a around a few blocks in the neighborhood. When I got back I had a Nutrisystem Chocolate Brownie Sundae. I'm not sure why they call it that. It never looks anything like how it's pictured. The only "brownie" are 3-4 1/4" size dots of chewy something. They could just leave it out and save a few calories but hey, that's my opinion. The ice cream part is good.
I was happy to get as much walking in as I did. I did pretty well with the water intake but not so well with fresh vegetables. Hey, if someone else cleaned them and cut them up I'd eat them all day. I'm just lazy. Tomorrow, Saturday should be pretty. I hoping to get some gardening in. Hope you all have something fun going on for the weekend! See y'all tomorrow!
