This happens EVERY time I cut back on calories. Eventually out of the blue, weight goes up not down. Lots of reasons, hormones, water retention or just because.
Today is going to be "one of those days". I'll be in meetings or in the car going from or to meetings. Tomorrow won't be much different. The worst part of it is getting 10k steps in probably won't happen. That said, I grabbed a Nutrisystem Buttermilk Waffle out of the freezer, whipped up a scrambled egg with scallions and poured a glass of V8 Low Sodium juice. And yes, a couple cups of coffee. I headed over to the office to try to go through my email.
Before I took off for meeting #1 I had a snack. I had another 2 ounces of the poached chicken breast with some crunch red bell pepper strips. I had some coffee at the ready so I had a cup with 2 teaspoons of cream. Then I was on my way.
I got back from meeting 1 and I had about 1 hour to try to get a couple office chores done. I decided to do a "flex" lunch out even though I already had mine this week. But life happens, changes happens. I got back in the car to meeting #2 which is a bit of a commute. I stopped at an In 'n Out Burger (that's a big deal in California) and had a "protein burger". That's a small beef patty, with tomato and onion slices, wrapped in iceberg lettuce leaves. This is about 240 calories.
I was hungry so I grabbed 1/2 ounce of cashew nuts. With a glass of water, a few cashew nuts is fairly filling. After my snack I headed out for a badly needed walk. I walked a little less than 2 miles. I walked passed a house a few blocks from mine which had a bag of nice Meyer Lemons set out for the taking. I filled a little bag with 3 nice ones. These are great squeezed in a glass of water in the morning.
I was concerned about the "off program" lunch today so I wanted to lay low for dinner. I pulled one of the few MRE lunches I purchased which is the Nutrisystem Red Beans and Rice. I had half a cucumber too. For whatever reason I like this entree. The rice has good texture; not mushy. The flavor has FLAVOR. I find it enjoyable.
Because I didn't get much exercise I didn't want to take in the extra calories so I passed on dessert tonight.
Today was way too much car time but sometimes it's a necessary evil. I didn't try any new foods; just some old standards. I did have an "off plan" lunch which I think worked out OK. My weight did a blip up but I don't find it too concerning right now. Tomorrow is going to be a lot of "sitting" again so hopefully I can still get a walk in sometime.
