Wow, ever so close to 5lb down! I grabbed a Nutrisystem Turkey Sausage and Egg Muffin for breakfast. I'm supposed to have a power fuel (extra protein) with this but it seems like overkill. Oh, and black coffee, just assume I always have coffee. I did have a glass of low sodium V8 juice. I had lots of office things to do today so I headed over early.
I had a quick appointment out which I had to drive to. When I got back at about 11:30 I had some poached chicken (2 ounces) which I dipped in some Dijon mustard. Two ounces is a LOT of chicken!
Around 1:00 I headed out for a walk. I walked close to 3 miles unfortunately I wore stupid shoes so my feet were tired and sore when I got back.
I was hungry when I got back and it was past lunch time. I hauled out a Nutrisystem Hamburger, heated it, and served with some grainy Dijon mustard. Oh, and I tried something different, I sprinkled the beef patty with a little garlic powder. I have say that was a good add!
After lunch I headed back to work. Somehow the time flew by and It was way past snack time so I totally missed it.
Nutrisystem has added many new foods in the last few months so I tried a new pasta entrée. I had the Nutrisystem Creamy Broccoli Pasta. Here are the good things about it. The elbow macaroni was not as mushy as some of the other pasta meals. The broccoli was crisp. The bad news is the sauce which alleged to be "cheddar cheese" tasted neither like cheddar or any kind of cheese. This is odd because cheese is the 2nd ingredient the ingredient list after water. The only sauce flavor I could detect was chicken broth. I had my husband taste it he detected milk.
The sauce is quite light. In fact I finally cooked it longer and sauce got thicker but broccoli overcooked and so did the pasta. I think, if you wished to spend the time, you could do the 3 minute heat. Carefully remove the vegetables and pasta. Then cook the sauce longer to thicken up. It wouldn't help the missing flavor but would not overcook the dish. I suppose you could saute a few mushrooms and add that but I'm not sure it would be worth it. I'm happy I only ordered one.
I also had another field greens salad with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar. That's about the only fresh vegetable I had today (aside from some lettuce on my hamburger).
After dinner I headed out for another walk. I needed another 1800 steps but ended up going further so I hit 11k+ for the day. When I got back I tried a new dessert the Nutrisystem Carrot Cake Mini Loaf . I let this sit out while I walked. The flavor is quite good and nicely filling although it bares little resemblance to real carrot cake in texture. The little cake is on the dry side. It's like a pumpkin bread that didn't use quite enough oil in the recipe. Despite that I enjoyed it and I'd definitely order it again.
This day really whooshed by. Part of the reason is I had an albeit short appointment out, and I took a walk that was about 45 minutes long. That all eats into the day. I'm starting to feel a lot better. My walks were not so taxing today. I didn't do so well with fresh vegetables today again. I'll work on that tomorrow. My water intake was a little low too but not catastrophic. I'll update y'all tomorrow.
