I removed a package of Nutrisystem Homestyle Pancakes from the freezer and placed them in my little convection oven to heat whilst I scrambled an egg with some red onion. I poured myself a glass of V8 (low sodium) and a cup of black coffee and that was breakfast, not bad. I only ate one of the 2 pancakes.
I got a bit peckish around 10ish so I weighed out 1/2 ounce of raw almonds which was enough to tide me over until lunch.
I was involved in a project so I didn't want to take a lot of time with lunch. I selected a Nutrisystem Pepperoni Pizza Melt. I enjoy the flavor of this melt. This particular melt seemed have forgotten the pepperoni but again, tasted good. I headed back out to the garden to try to rid the flower box of all the oak leaves and acorns that were filling it up. By the way I forgot to take a pic of my melt before I wolfed it down so I used my pic from a previous meal.
I meant to have a protein shake but at the last minute I decided on some cottage cheese and a small tomato. All I have left in the garden are these Roma tomatoes which taste OK but they are not salad tomatoes and not as sweet. They still beat the pants off any grocery store tomato. By the way it is 3:30 and I've not had a single walk today. I'll have to get one in soon or it won't happen.
Around 4:00 I finally headed out for a walk before dinner. It wasn't a long walk but better than nothing for sure.
I like the Nutrisystem Mushroom Stuffed Chicken Breast. I heat it in my mini convection for 35 minutes at 350F. I tossed more fresh green beans in the other oven to roast for about 25 minutes. I didn't have a "smart carb" for my afternoon snack so I added I slice of Dave's Killer Bread to my dinner with about 1 teaspoon of butter.
I tried something new and I liked it! One of Nutrisystem's latest addition to the snack category is a Nutrisystem Cinnamon Coffee Cake. This one needs to be thawed out for 30 minutes before you dive in or you can microwave it. I chose to defrost mine which I think was a good choice. I'd suspect microwaving it probably affects the texture. I was pleasantly surprised with the flavor; it was quite good, coffee cake wise. It was pretty sweet but after dinner that was nice.
Some of the people who reviewed this dessert on the Nutrisystem site mentioned it was small and it is but it's very filling. To me it is appropriately sized.
I'm hoping I can step up (no pun intended) my exercise soon but not much I can do right now. I'm trying for at least one walk close to a mile each day until I can do more. Dinner and dessert were standouts today. Looking forward to a restful Sunday.
