Well, that's not encouraging! I can't say I've ever started a diet and had my weight go up after the first day. I won't panic (yet). I did have a terrible nights sleep. I woke up with a killer headache which I'm assuming was because I was hungry. I got up at 6a.m. and ate some cucumber and had a cup of coffee. The headache eventually faded away, thank heavens!
I've had most all of the Nutrisystem foods but I was sent a package of Nutrisystem Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal. I prepped it per package with 1/2 cup nonfat milk and it looked pretty decent. That said, I took a bite and it was SHOCKINGLY sweet. Wow, it was hard to eat. Had I not been so hungry I may have skipped it. The flavor was good, nice maple, brown sugar flavor. If you are a sweets person you'll probably love it. I'm more of a savory gal but to each one's own.
As I mentioned yesterday The Nutrisystem Chocolate Turbo Shake is the only choice for this first week. Not a problem given it's a fave.
I selected one of the dehydrated lunch options; Nutrisystem Three Cheese Chicken. This is not bad. It's simply cheesy flavored noodles with a cheese-like sauce and some bits of sun dried tomato. I cut up a couple of small tomatoes and a few spears of cucumber to serve alongside.
Around quarter to three I had the Nutricurb Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar. I was hungry so I didn't pay so much attention to the textural problem I have with this bar.
I selected my least favorite entree for dinner this evening. It's the Nutrisystem Chicken Pot Pie. I happen to be a fan of good old fashioned chicken pot pies but this bears little resemblance. That said, rather than microwaving the little pastry top I toasted it in my little convection oven. It seemed flakier this time. The pot pie innards were still the same; mostly carrots, peas, a little chicken and a sauce that was more brothy than saucey. However, I was hungry so I ate every last bite. I made yet another mixed greens salad with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
I stayed fairly satiated for the most part of the day. I had a half medium cucumber around 7pm to try to stave any middle of the night 'hungry headache". I only had 40oz of water today. I'll try to do better tomorrow. Y'all have a great evening and I'll be checking in tomorrow.
