Well, clearly it's time for a major reboot. I did a restart back in April but I didn't stick with it. I was able to maintain for a couple more months but... For health reasons too crazy to go into I stopped most of my exercise. This was not diet related by the way, just one of those things in life that happens sometimes.
As for my food intake I actually started cutting back a few days ago. It didn't make much difference in my weight, about 1.5lb to be exact. Not exercising is not helping my cause. Another month and I should be able to get back on track in that department too.
Early last week I placed my order for the latest Nutrisystem Turbo 13 and I was surprised it all arrived by the end of the week. I decided a Sunday was as good as any day to start, and so I did. Here we go again!
First week is easy. They give you everything you're going to eat except some fresh non-starchy vegetables. I stocked up on some salad greens, cucumbers, radishes and red bell peppers. Those are my faves.
I rummaged through my "first week" box and everything, shy of one breakfast entree I had tried before. I decided on the Nutrisystem Cinnamon Streusel Muffin with my usual cup (or 2) of black coffee. I did heat the muffin for 15 seconds in the micro before serving it.
For the first week this is a "no choice" snack. The Nutrisystem Chocolate Turbo Shake is the only choice. It so happens I happen to like this quite a bit. I frothed it up in my blender with 8 ounces of water and a little ice.
I picked out one of the lunch things I recall not caring for. It is the Nutrisystem Fudge Graham Bar. Now I'm not sure if my memory is failing (who knows?) or if the reformulated but I liked it more this time around. I also had a little tomato, sliced with a sprinkle of salt. I grew mostly sauce tomatoes this year but my neighbor just happen to have some extra salad tomatoes in her garden and, bless her little heart, she shared!
Again, the afternoon snack is prearranged. It is the Nutricurb, Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar. Now go figure, last time I liked these (they were Nutricrush Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar back then). This time the texture is so granular. The flavor is OK. Hey, I'm hungry, I'll eat it!
I selected my least favorite Nutrisystem dinner entree of the selection I was provided. It's an MRE, Rotini with Meatballs. I also fixed a mixed greens salad topped with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. I guess we're not supposed to have vinegar but I can't choke down a bowl of dry greens without a little something.
The day went pretty easy. I like week one in someways because it's virtually no decisions required and very little prep.
I was a little hungry by the time I went to bed so I drank a glass of water. I did get one small walk in. Given my step goal is 10k and I didn't even make 3k, well, clearly no success there. Ciao until tomorrow!
