On this fine Pearl Harbor Day I selected a Nutrisystem Thick Sliced French toast entree to have with a few (very few) fresh blueberries and one egg, scrambled. I topped my French Toast with about 2 teaspoons butter and a small puddle of Vermont Fake Maple Syrup.
For a morning snack I had a bag of Nutrisystem Garlic Parmesan Snack-a-rounds. These little crisps have a robust flavor and nice texture from the flax seeds and quinoa flour. I do prefer the Smoky BBQ flavor over this one.
Nutrisystem brings on a few new foods per year. A recent one is the Nutrisystem Spinach and Cheese Pretzel Melt. The wrap portion has a nice dark, wheaty appearance and the filling had a pleasant gooey, cheesy texture but the cheese flavor was light. Nutrisystem uses lower fat cheese and for the most part they lack the flavor of fuller fat cheese. The wraps on all the "melts" tend to be thick and doughy and this had that going on too. I did like the flavor of the wrap better than the standard wrap used in most melts. I would purchase this again just to keep some variety in the meals.
I had a quick snack of 1 stick of light string cheese. I find light string cheese more amusing than filling but it's all good.
My day has been going pretty well. Mid day I made it out for a couple mile walk. Not an exhaustive amount of exercise but better than yesterday for sure. In the evening we decided to walk into town and eat an "appetizer" meal. This is place we go to a few times a year but wow, it was really bad. I didn't even take pictures. It's sad to see a place go so terribly downhill. It was definitely not worth the extra calories.
The calorie count at dinner exceeded what I'm sure I should have had so I at least had the decency to not make matters worse with dessert.
Today was an easier day than yesterday for sure. I'll be back at the gym tomorrow. Did you all have a great day?
