I'll be walking to the farmer's market this morning for provisions but meanwhile I made a simple breakfast with a Nutrisystem Cinnamon Roll, coffee and 1 egg, scrambled.
So, now that I'm off boot camp I integrate in some "power fuel" snacks (like nuts, seeds, nut butters, yogurt, etc.). I took the quick route and just had 1 ounce of dried almonds (raw).
I remember all these Nutrisystem foods. As far as their "melts" go, which is essentially some bread-like-dough with a filling. In this case I had the Nutrisystem Steak and Cheese Melt. This is about my favorite. You can taste these steak, onions and green bell pepper.
Snack time came none too soon. I started with a stick of light string cheese. I was still hungry and I need to eat something vegetable. I cut up a stalk of celery and poured about 1 tablespoon of Bolthouse Greek Yogurt Bold Blue Cheese dressing (about 20 calories). This seem to appease my hunger.
Before dinner I headed out for another walk to make sure I got my 10k steps it, which I did. When I got back i whipped together a quick field greens salad with some scallions, olive oil and balsamic. Then, I heated a Nutrisystem Chicken Parmesan entree. I was reading reviews of this dish and several people (including myself) tried various methods of heating the chicken portion so it didn't have soggy coating but all efforts were met with failure. Aside from the textural issue (and same goes for the limp pasta) the flavor was OK. I paired mine with some crisp fresh green beans to offset the soggy stuff.
It was too late in the evening for coffee but I still wanted a Nutrisystem Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookie for dessert. I had it with a glass of water instead. This is a soft cookie with a nice flavor of oats and a little chocolate. I have to say I enjoyed it. If you are not a fan of soft cookies then you may want to try the Nutrisystem Chocolate Chip Cookies which are nice and crisp.
I was happy to get all my steps in today. Next week will probably be hit and miss because of a slightly crazy schedule. I do have gym tomorrow morning so I'll at least get a workout in. Hope you all had a great weekend. I'll see you around the water cooler tomorrow!
