Sunday, November 26, 2017 Total Steps (walk + yard work) Total Calories: 6415 Water Intake: 48 oz Weight Loss: -25.4 (-1.4 loss since Turbo 13 start)
Just to reiterate (in case you are new here). Last year I lost 30 lbs on Nutrisystem. At one point I did a Turbo 13 restart then I was on my own for a few months. I did gain about 6lbs since that time. That said right after this Thanksgiving (just a couple of days ago) I decided to repeat Turbo 13 again just to help to not get too out of control. Actually, what I did was to allow myself pretty much whatever I wanted for Thanksgiving + one day after to enjoy some leftovers. After all the effort I put in making that meal I wanted to at least have one additional day of pleasure out of it.
I wanted to do a Turbo 13 redo to reintroduce some discipline and just to make sure I didn't have some major holiday weight-creep.
For whatever reason I got up really early today. I had a couple of cups of coffee but could not avoid the reality that I was hungry. Shortly after 6 a.m. I decided to have breakfast. Last night, before bed, I selected all the foods I'd eat today, just to make it as easy as possible. Because these are all prepared foods I just scanned each bar code in and new my calorie count for the day instantly. NOT that you count calories on Nutrisystem, but, well, I do.
Today I had the Nutrisystem Double Chocolate Muffin for breakfast. It is pretty flavorful. If you've read this blog before you probably know I'm not keen on sweets as breakfast foods. I just don't find them filling or even a wise way of eating. Nevertheless it tasted fine and it held me over for awhile. I headed out to the farmer's market around 8:00am and I was hungry again already. I did have a couple of glasses of ice water, that helps a little.
When I got back from my walk/shopping trip I made my Nutrisystem Chocolate TurboShake, my fave of all their shakes. They are filling, at least for a little while. I did pick up some fresh salad greens and some other vegetables at the market so my lunch and dinner will be a little more satisfying.
My daily selection for lunch today was the Nutrisystem Three Cheese Chicken which is a slightly soupy/noodle/chicken dish. It comes dehydrated so you add water, reconstitute and heat via the microwave. The flavor is not bad and it's reasonably filling. I also shared a field greens salad with a teaspoon (measured) of olive oil and some balsamic vinegar. This is NOT supposed to be used during this first week but, I did it anyway. The addition of the salad made a big difference in helping me to feel satiated.
Given I had my TurboShake for morning snack that left me with my Nutricrush Peanut Butter Chocolate Bar for afternoon snack. I noticed again today that the texture is granular. The flavor is fine and it helps me from getting too hungry mid day.
I was pretty sedentary today. It was raining by 11a.m. and stayed that way all day. That's my excuse for not hitting my 10k step goal for the day. And, YES, I own an umbrella and YES, I own a jacket with a hood. Ok, so I just didn't feel like it. That OK? haha! That said I was still hungry by dinner time. My entree this evening was Nutrisystem Chicken Pasta Parmesan. This is an MRE you heat in the microwave. These are probably my least favorite meals for the most part. I was prepared to add some additional Italian seasoning but it was already pungent enough. My issue is more with the soft texture of the pasta and the dry-chewy texture of the chicken. I just ate it as is. I did add another salad but this time I used a very low-cal Bolthouse Greek yogurt bold blue cheese dressing (2 T = 40 calories).
I had some office work to attend to which occupied me for much of the day. I didn't stay so busy that I forgot I was hungry. I wasn't famished all day but... I did drink quite a bit of water, some hot coffee and in the early evening some iced coffee. Tomorrow is Monday, gym day so I'll see how my energy holds up. See you tomorrow!
