It's a no-gym day but I still had my "gym day" breakfast. Fage 2% Greek Yogurt, fresh berries and a bag of Nutrisystem Granola Cereal. I had an early appointment so I didn't get an early walk in.
Without going into the gory details, I felt like I wanted a "food reward" after my appointment. I RARELY do this, but today, I did. We have this excellent bakery in town (Manresa Bread). I've not had anything from there in well over a year, well, until today. This little sweet delight is called a Kouign-amann, pronounced [kwinˈamɑ̃n]. I had this with a nice cup of coffee and I loved every bite.
I was eventually hungry again so I had a small lunch, yet another 1/2 Toscano Sandwich.
I had 5 Croccantini, Mini, Original crackers but NO cheese today! This are very tasty but 5 do rack up 100 calories.
I knew I wanted something healthy but I really did not want to cook tonight. We walked into town and had a nice fresh-Mex mesquite grilled chicken salad. This is one of our main go-to quick meals out when we aren't in the mood for meal prep. The good news is we walk to the restaurant so I get steps in too. Bonus!
I didn't feel like having any additional food so I skipped dessert but had a couple of glasses of ice coffee (black).
I still did not have quite enough steps for the day even though I had one more walk in after dinner. I only needed 700 or so to go so I went outside and walked up the block, then back on the opposite side of the street and by the time I got to my door I was only 20 or so steps from my 10k. I made a couple trips up and down my stairs until I hit 10k. That is where these fitness trackers can really pay off. They make you see that you just have a little more to do to hit your goal and that's a good motivator. Tomorrow is gym day. Hope you all are all prepped for your Fourth of July holiday!
